Alandi Warkari Yatra is an annual, important cultural identity and feature of Pune. The theme  of this year’s SPPU dindi [ Yatra]is ‘Swacch Wari, Swastha Wari, Nirmal Wari, Harit Wari’.  

The focus therefore was on spreading awareness about cleanliness, health and tree plantation.  Saplings were distributed and street plays were performed on social issues like gender  sensitisation, elections etc.   

On 22 June 2022, The NSS Unit of SVIMS along with 17 NSS volunteers helped the Pune  Police at Yerwada Bridge in crowd management, distribution of food, cleaning of places where  warkaris rested and put up street plays on social issues. Students sung Bhajans, Abhangas and  danced with warkaris.  

The wari [ yatra] helped students to learn leadership, coordination, teamwork,  humanity and  humility.
