Dr Phunde shed light on the concept of Energy Conservation, its need, importance  and the Energy Conservation Act, 2001. Energy Conservation is an important Sustainable  Development Goal and has a direct impact on the Environment and quality of Life.  In that  sense it has a bearing on all UN – SDGs. He explained how energy conservation is influenced  by factors such as Global Direct Primary Energy Consumption, Human Development Index  (HDI), Per Capita Primary Power Consumption, World Primary Energy Consumption and  other matrices. He also spoke about career opportunities in the field of energy conservation in  the Energy Service Companies as also under different programmes under EC Act, 2001.
