Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan – Savitribai Phule Pune University

This is a scheme introduced by the University to develop the confidence and personality of woman students who come from the rural areas and are deprived sections of society. The marginalization and deprivation is double if you are a woman and from the backward or scheduled castes. The main objective of this scheme is to develop a critical mind, self-confidence and a commitment to society. The students are given training in health, law, and social activities. They are also given training in self-employment and all possible other activities that enhance her social confidence.

Hillary Clinton opined, “women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world.” Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan brings to life the statement that for any woman it is important to understand that inadequacy should not be their deepest fear; infact it should be driven by the fact they are powerful beyond measure.

SVIMS vision is about being a pioneering institute for nurturing women managers, leaders and entrepreneurs with heart – based leadership, skills for the VUCA world and professionalism. The SVIMS Students Development Cell, under the guideship of Students Development Board, Savitribai Phule Pune University organized the program on Nirbhaya Kanya Abhiyan at the Institute on Thursday, 9th February 2023 from 10:00 am to 3:00pm.
