Sadhu Vaswani Mission: Our Founding Body
Our Founding Body- Sadhu Vaswani Mission, is a humanitarian, not-for-profit service organization
[Charitable Trust] that endeavors to reach out to society through its services in the fields of education, medical care, relief and rehabilitation, and social welfare. The Trust bears the name of Sadhu Vaswani: Visionary Saint, Educationist, Social Reformer, Philosopher, Patriot and Poet of the Nineteenth Century.
To many thousands around the world, Sadhu Vaswani is a name synonymous with reverence for all life. Indeed, he was the living embodiment of an unsullied, cosmic power of love that knew no bounds, an all-embracing love that included all mankind, animals, and all creation.
A contemporary saint of the 20th Century, Sadhu T.L. Vaswani was born on November 25, 1879, in Hyderabad Sind, in undivided India. He was an educationist who helmed as the principal of several prestigious colleges and later redefined learning through the ‘Mira Movement In Education’.
Sadhu Vaswani was far ahead of his times and spoke about women upliftment and of an ideal, world-class education blended in character-building in times when the country was still struggling for freedom from the British Raj and women were confined to the kitchen.
The MIRA Movement in Education he founded, was a revolutionary concept in education, given its emphasis on women empowerment, quality of education, character building, community service, love of Indian ideals and Reverence for Humanity. He firmly upheld the belief that women had a great potential - a great Shakti - which could be utilized for the betterment of society and the nation.
In the year 1933, the Mira School for Girls was inaugurated and this school laid the cornerstone of the 'Mira Movement In Education'. Today, there are 18 schools and colleges spread across the world; conferring to thousands of young minds cutting-edge education synthesised with spirituality. All educational institutions set up by the Sadhu Vaswani Mission after Sadhu Vaswani dropped his physical body in 1966, are named after him.
The Government of India released a commemorative stamp to honour Sadhu Vaswani- this great Educationist and Humanist on 25th November 1969.

Sadhu Vaswani Institute of Management Studies for Girls (SVIMS)
Sadhu Vaswani Institute of Management Studies established in 2010, functions under the aegis of the Sadhu Vaswani Mission. The Institute represents the culmination of our Rev. Founder’s dream to empower women in the interests of social and national progress.
The institution is inspired by the faith that, “In the new unfolding of India’s destiny, women have to play an important part”. As Sadhu Vaswani often said: The woman's soul will lead us upward! Our goal is to help produce a new generation of women managers who will not only be self-confident and sensible but also ethical and sensitive to the tremendous challenges they will face in the corporate world. We hope to create a new generation of successful women professionals who will combine idealism and pragmatism in their approach to personal and professional life challenges.
