The Institute celebrated Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – Independence Day on 15thAugust 2022.

Lt. Col. (Mrs.) Manonmani Venkat (Retd.) was invited as the Guest of Honor. Mrs. Manonmani Venkat is a retired Lt. Col and was in Military Nursing Services for 22 years. She also worked for different Nursing colleges as principal and administrator. She is a clinical nurse, educator and administrator. She was General Secretary of Society of Midwives India from 2009 till 2018 where she was involved in advocacy for leadership, safe motherhood practices, planning and conducting various events. She is also a member of National Research Society of India, Society of Midwives India, Indian Public Health Administration, and SOCHNI. At present she works as the advisor of SOMI.

She hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Dr. B H Nanwani, Director, SVIMS and Dr. Sripriya Gopalkrishnan - Principal, SVCON. Students, Staff, faculty with their family members participated in the event. After the ceremony, students sang Desh Bhakti songs.
